About the Artist:

The theme of the exhibition focuses on ephemeral experiences. They have occurred many times when I was photographing nature, urban or rural settings, along highways, pastures or even in ditches. I call these moments, visual signposts. Later in the studio I play and interact from an intuitive state of mind, wanting to recapture those experiences through my work. They are never preconceived. It talks and I listen.

I am fascinated with the phenomena of personal, sudden and momentary experiences that create a brief sense of personal tranquility, awe and wonder. They help me remember that change and impermanence are inevitable and nothing in life remains the same forever, so embrace the moment.

My photo-assemblages have photographic images, minimally manipulated only for the purpose of creating a desired mood, tone or feeling. They are blended into the exterior of each picture frame, with a variety of narrative constructions relating to each theme.

My works are mixed media in nature, which include digital ink jet prints, wood, metal and plastic constructions, marine and land specimens, synthetic and natural material, found objects, vintage toys, everyday objects and thrift store purchases. My artwork aligns closely with Pop Culture Surrealism and Magic Realism.

Inspired from lyric songwriter, Bob Dylan, “Mr. Tambourine Man”

“To dance beneath the diamond skies, with one hand waving free”.
